Reciprocal Bioinnovation Challenge 2025

1. Scope and Agreement

1.1 These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all participants (“Participants”, “you”, “your”) submitting an entry to the Reciprocal Bioinnovation Challenge 2025 (“Competition”).

1.2 By submitting materials or otherwise participating in the Competition, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms in full.

2. Eligibility and Participation

2.1 The Competition is open to individuals aged 18 or over, and to legal entities operating in the biotechnology, life sciences, or related innovation sectors.

2.2 Entries are welcomed from across academia, industry, early-stage ventures, and individual innovators.

2.3 Employees or direct affiliates of the Organiser, including close relatives of judges, may not be eligible to compete.

3. Submissions and Use of Information

3.1 Participants may submit materials including, but not limited to, pitch decks, executive summaries, presentations, documents, videos, and diagrams (“Submissions”).

3.2 Submissions must be sent in digital formats acceptable to the Organiser and in accordance with the published guidelines.

3.3 Participants must not include confidential, proprietary, commercially sensitive, or regulated data (e.g., clinical data, unpublished IP, or patient information).

3.4 The Organiser assumes no responsibility for the safeguarding of any sensitive information included, whether intentionally or inadvertently, by the Participant.

4. Participant Responsibility and Intellectual Property

4.1 Participants retain full ownership of any intellectual property (IP) associated with their Submission.

4.2 By submitting materials, Participants represent and warrant that:

They have the full legal right and authority to disclose the submitted materials;

The Submission does not infringe the rights of any third party;

No part of the Submission is subject to confidentiality obligations with any other party.

4.3 Participants grant the Organiser a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to reproduce, evaluate, display (in part or in full), and use the Submission solely for the purpose of administering, judging, and publicising the Competition.

5. Confidentiality and Publicity

5.1 The Competition is conducted on an open, public-facing basis. No aspect of the Competition is subject to confidentiality, and no non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) will be entered into by the Organiser.

5.2 Selected submissions, finalists, or winners may be referenced in promotional content, reports, websites, or press materials. By participating, you consent to the appropriate public disclosure of your name, organisation, and a general description of your Submission.

6. Funding and Awards

6.1 No monetary funding, grant, equity investment, or financial award is offered at any stage of the Competition.

6.2 Any recognition offered (such as visibility, mentoring, or showcasing) is discretionary and subject to availability.

6.3 Participation in the Competition does not constitute an offer of employment, partnership, commercial contract, or future funding.

7. Judging and Outcomes

7.1 Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of experts appointed by the Organiser. Judging criteria may include innovation, feasibility, societal impact, and alignment with the spirit of the Competition.

7.2 The decision of the judging panel is final and not subject to appeal.

7.3 The Organiser reserves the right to withhold naming a winner or to recognise multiple entries at its sole discretion.

8. Exclusion of Liability

8.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Organiser and its officers, employees, partners, agents, contractors, or affiliates shall not be liable under any circumstances for any loss, damage, cost, claim, liability, or expense of any kind arising in connection with the Competition, including but not limited to:

Loss of business opportunities, revenue, profits, goodwill, data, or IP;

Accidents, personal injury, or other incidents during travel to or from, or while attending, any Competition-related events;

Technical errors, network failures, or delays in communications;

Loss, theft, or unauthorised use of submitted materials.

8.2 The Organiser disclaims all liability, and any participation is undertaken entirely at the Participant’s own risk.

9. Termination or Modification

9.1 The Organiser reserves the right to cancel, amend, suspend, or terminate the Competition or these Terms at any time and for any reason, without notice.

9.2 The Organiser accepts no responsibility for any disruption, delay, or loss arising from such changes.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

10.1 These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

10.2 Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
